There are two types of Lotus tasks related to bomb chips and combinations:

1 - To make a bomb chip. Lotus task counts all bomb chips, no matter how they appear.

2 - To make a combination - match 5, match-6 or match-7. The Lotus task counts combination only if you made it by your own move. If a combination is produced as a result of cascades (matches produced by other matches,  they occur when you make a move at the bottom of the board and chips start falling down), it’s not counted in the Lotus quest.
