Running out of space on your board in Secret Shores can temporarily halt your expedition. If your board is completely full and you cannot spawn new items, use these four strategies to free up cells and keep your merge chains going:

• Fulfill Residents' Orders: Check the left side of your screen for active requests from the island's residents. If you have an item on your board that matches an order, hand it over. The item will be removed from the board, instantly freeing up space, and you will earn progress tokens as a reward.
• Merge Identical Items: Drag an item onto an identical one to combine them into a single, higher-level relic or tool. Because two items become one, this action immediately clears a cell.
• Stash Items in the Backpack: Save valuable items for later by dragging them onto the Backpack icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. The Backpack can hold up to 10 items in total. You get 3 storage slots for free, and you can unlock the remaining slots using crystals.
• Delete Unneeded Items: If a low-level item is blocking your progress and cannot be merged or stored, you can discard it entirely. Tap to select the item, then tap the trash bin icon located in the information window on the right side of the screen.
